Two Schreiber Students Honored by Nassau Zone of NYSAHPERD
Congratulations to Emma Stylianos and Chris Caprariello
PORT WASHINGTON, NEW YORK (DECEMBER 2020)—Two of Paul D. Schreiber High School’s athletes—Emma Stylianos and Chris Caprariello—were selected by the Nassau ZONE of New York State Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance to represent the Port Washington Union Free School District (PWUFSD) as recipients of the Outstanding Student award.
During a recent virtual ceremony on December 7, Emma and Chris were recognized among several other high school students in Nassau that also met the required Physical Education Outstanding Student criteria for achievement. The ceremony featured a short clip from each recipient expressing how physical education contributed to their high school experiences.
Chris stated, “Physical education provides a much needed break from my coursework throughout the day and has allowed me to form strong bonds with my coaches and teammates that I couldn’t have otherwise formed without their classes.”

Emma shared, “Physical education has been an amazing way for me to manage my own physical and mental health especially throughout this year. I’ve been able to apply the skills I’ve learned from my physical education classes to almost all aspects of my life.”
