Weber Middle School Drama Club presents: "Shrek, the Musical"
"Let your freak flag fly" at Weber Middle School's drama club production of Shrek, the Musical!
It will be “a big bright beautiful world” at Weber Middle School when they present Shrek, the Musical on March 22nd-24th! Based on the award winning 2001 DreamWorks movie and with a catchy and upbeat score composed by Port Washington native Jeanine Tesori, Shrek is a story that will appeal to all ages. Shrek, the Musical tells the story of a lonely Ogre (7th grader Gavin Miller) who goes on a quest to save his land. Along the way he befriends a talking Donkey (8th grader (Mikey Capobianco) who helps him to save the feisty Princess Fiona (8th graders Sydney Flisser [Thurs./Sat.] & Hannah Loeb [Fri./Sun.]) Through this journey and from encounters with a gang of fed up fairy tale characters, a soulful dragon, and the spiteful Lord Farquaad, Shrek finds true love and learns that looks can be deceiving; everyone has something that makes them special!
Weber Middle School’s production of Shrek, the Musical is directed by Weber English teacher Mrs. Stacey Portmore-Davies, musically directed by Weber music teacher Mrs. Allison Friedman, and choreographed by Dance Arts Centre owner/teacher Bari Strachman. The show features over 150 talented students in the cast, pit orchestra, and crew! Performances will be held on Friday, March 22nd at 7:30pm, Saturday, March 23rd at 7:30, and Sunday, March 24th at 2:00pm in the brand new Weber Middle School auditorium.
