Weber MS Staff Sends Uplifting Message To Students In Video

Weber Middle School teachers are sending a strong message to their students while they remain at home through the rest of the school year.

PORT WASHINGTON, NY – Weber Middle School teachers are sending a strong message to their students while they remain at home through the rest of the school year: "We'll be there for you."

In a video posted to YouTube, 6th grade chorus, 7th and 8th grade music and drama staff lip synced The Rembrandts' "I'll Be There For You," made famous by the hit sitcom "Friends" in the 1990s.

With screen grabs, recorded video calls and performances complete with string instruments, the middle school staff came together to create a remote lip sync video for their students.

Last week, New York Governor Andrew Cuomo announced that all New York schools and colleges will remain closed through the end of the academic year. For teachers and school staff members, this means they will not be able to see their students in person again this year and will not get the chance to say goodbye before the summer break.

With nearly 2,000 views, the Weber Middle School video sends a remote message the teachers won't get a chance to say to their students in person: they'll be there for them.
