1 of a Find Owner Inspired by Northern California Cool
Honey Moon, owner of 1 of a Find Vintage, says her style and selection is influenced by her Northern California upbringing.
Honey Moon, owner of , on Vanderbilt Avenue, told Santa Rosa, California’s Press Democrat that she found much of the inspiration for her shop’s quirky and cool style growing up in Northern California in the 80s and 90s.
When Moon was a freshman in high school, she opened a small vintage shop with her mother, scouring thrift stores and yard sales for vintage designer labels and other unique finds, says the article. The store grew and expanded, and Moon dabbled in creating her own fashion designs, though told the paper that she realized she didn’t have "the patience to sew."
According to a New York Times profile last May, Moon originally opened 1 of a Find in 2008 on Lincoln Place in Park Slope, though her upscale vintage finds didn’t have much success in a neighborhood “where the central shoe destination is an Aerosoles.”

The Times fashion reviewer then called Moon’s “true genius” her “selectivity and her sense of the modern.”
But Moon says she simply loves finding and reselling clothes “that once lived a really magical life,” according to the Press Democrat.
