81-Year-Old Woman Wins Fight Against Armed Mugger, Police Say
An elderly woman successfully fought off a man with a knife who tried to mug her in Crown Heights, said police.

CROWN HEIGHTS, BROOKLYN — Do not mess with this 81-year-old lady.
An elderly woman fought off the mugger who pulled a knife on her at the corner of Nostrand Avenue and Eastern Parkway on Aug. 1, police said.
The man demanded cash from the woman then tried to grab her purse out of her hands at about 8:10 p.m., said police.

But the brave woman clutched her purse and fought off her attacker, who then ran away up Nostrand Avenue toward Lincoln Place, police said.
Police released photos of the suspected mugger — whom they describe as a 5-foot, 60inch tall man weighing about 225 pounds, last seen wearing dark shorts, a dark hat and carrying a backpack — on Friday.
