Conversation with artist Emma Sulkowicz and New York Times art critic Roberta Smith at the Brooklyn Museum, Sunday 12/14/2014, 2pm

Emma Sulkowicz, artist and undergraduate at Columbia University, discusses her current endurance performance work.

Artist Emma Sulkowicz will discuss her current performance work with New York Times art critic, Roberta Smith.  They will continue a conversation that began with an article in the Times and will talk about the process of interweaving Sulkowicz’s personal trauma with public work, the unique experience of carrying a mattress in public, and what it means for Sulkowicz’s art that she has become an internet-based media phenomenon.

The event is part of the Conversation series sponsored by the Elizabeth A. Sackler Center for Feminist Art
