10pm- Christina Li
Genre: Acoustic pop rock
For fans of: Amanda Palmer, Jeff Buckley
Christina Li has always lived between two worlds. After sharpening her vocal chops as a jazz house band singer and training at the Clive Davis Institute of Recorded Music at NYU, Christina finally returned to her own music in 2012 to find new sounds awaiting her. Her transition from acoustic guitar to electric supports this new timbre with grittier tones. The percussive guitar and lyrics of 20-something tension create a sound that hearkens back to the tunes of Liz Phair’s “Exile in Guyville” and Dusty Springfield. You can always hear her somewhere between Washington Square Park and Park Slope – continually singing and strumming. Find her at www.musicchristinali.com.
