Fatal Crown Heights Hit-And-Run Was Homicide, Police Say
The Crown Heights dad killed by a hit-and-run driver may have been murdered, according to police and reports.
CROWN HEIGHTS, BROOKLYN — The hit-and-run driver who killed a Crown Heights dad may have done it on purpose, according to police.
The grey sedan driver who rammed in Kassim Matthews, 30, on Albany Avenue and Park Place about 5:30 a.m. Sunday morning could face murder charges after police ruled the crash to be a homicide Tuesday morning, said police.
The Daily News reported video shows someone in the car's back seat grabbing and dragging Matthews' body down the street as the sedan careens away.

Matthews suffered head and body injuries in the crash and died at Interfaith Medical Center later that day, police.
The sedan driver had not been arrested as of Tuesday, police said.

Family and friends who gathered for a vigil in Matthews' home described him as a doting father to three kids and a sports fan who loved the Jets, according to a Daily News report.
“He was the best father to my kids," said Raven Ohara-Morris his wife. “They were daddy’s girls.”
