Eton says goodbye

Only a year after opening, Eton’s dumpling outpost at 635 Vanderbilt Avenue has closed, according to Brownstoner. Eton’s original location on Sackett Street remains open, and according to a sign posted on the front door of the shuttered Vanderbilt location, fans can still buy dumplings at Met and Key Foods.

Chickpea plans opening

If you've noticed the new restaurant coming in on Bergen near Sixth Avenue, and been wondering what it will be, here's some more information. A tipster wrote to Brownstoner that the place is called Chickpea. The post says the menu is “healthy-mideastern,” and Brownstoner wondered if it was a new location of the Manhattan franchise, Chickpea. Their restaurant locater page doesn’t list anything in Brooklyn.

Al Di La expands

The owners of the Park Slope Italian restaurant Al Di La are opening another restaurant at 791 Washington Avenue, the former home of Teddy’s, according to Brownstoner. Community Board 8 recently approved a full liquor license to the establishment, and the owners hope to open by December. Brownstoner reports that there will be 36 seats inside and 38 out and hours will be 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. During the day, they will offer counter service and soups, and in the evening there will be a full sit-down menu. The new restaurant will go by a different name, but that hasn’t yet been decided.
