For Locals, By Locals -- 1st event -- Dance, Comedy, Poetry and more!

I want to invite you to a really cool event taking place in Crown Heights tomorrow night -- Check it out, let me know what you think.

This is what’s all a-buzz in Crown Heights!

Starting tomorrow, Wednesday, July 10th, ‘For Locals, By Locals’ will be hosting weekly events featuring local attractions—curated by the Hoover Dam Collective. The first event will be held at Mister Rogers, a new studio space on Bedford Avenue in Crown Heights.

The mission of ‘For Locals, By Locals’ is to showcase local artists, talents and acts in and around Crown Heights, at gigs designed specifically for locals as a place to hang out, meet neighbors, drink locally and eat local bites.

For Locals, By Locals: Crown Heights

Event Structure:

-       Food – Every week have another local food business showcases its goods (starting July 17)

-       Drinks – Every week have another local bar or mixologist showcases a few select drinks

-       Entertainment – Every week will showcase different talents, from comedy to music and everything in between (curated by the Hoover Dam Collective)

Goal:

Crown Heights is quickly emerging as a great new neighborhood for young and talented professionals. It’s become the place to live—surrounded by authentic Brooklyn while still being close to the city.

The event organizers aim to keep this community thriving with events and, specifically, a communal place to show their support—all while being entertained and in good neighborly company.

Event Information:

Date: Wednesday, July 10th

Time: 8pm – 11pm

Location: Mister Rogers 231 Rogers Ave. (btwn Union and President), Crown Heights

As an introduction to this series we are offering free entre to this event.

7:30—Door Open with art gallery preview of the Ruvi Leider Photography ‘Close To Home’ Project

8:00—Music: On the Hoof

8:50—Poetry: Daniel Grjonko

9:10—Comedy: Robert Dean

9:30—Music: Noise and Rhythm Duo

10:10—Dance: Christine Hoberg (accompanied by Francheska Lopez)

This project is an initiative of Avi Werde, a Crown Heights local and owner of ECS (Event Connection Source), an event brokerage firm that promotes and represents event vendors to event clients in and around New York (see http://www.useecs.com). He has about 8 years of experience in the event industry and has been involved with and planned events from fashion shows and art galleries, to concerts, music videos, product launches, expositions, and festivals.
