The Way Station provides a bastion for both the love-filled and heartbroken this year during their, I Know There is Love: A Valentines Evening, Saturday, February 14 from 8PM-12AM. Spend the night with us whether you want to dance a sexy samba, leave a tear in your beer, laugh your way through a break up or listen to some dirty love songs with a loved one. Our Valentines Evening will entertain every mood in our “petite pad for a truly intimate musical experience.” (Yelp.com)

The evening will begin at 8PM with Zamba 2 Samba as they delve deep into Brazil’s musical past offering reinterpretations of Brazil’s most joyous music from the ‘40’s, ‘50’s & ‘60’s. Led by Susan Justice’s beautiful, clear voice and backed by both Brazilian and a revolving group of international musicians, Zamba 2 Samba will take you to a small samba club in Lapa, Rio...at least for the night. Following up this romantic South American musical journing is Stabwounds at 9PM, an act of rebellion, not for all ages. This heartbreak acoustic duo performs all original songs. Imagine a love child of early White Stripes, Laura Marling and The Marvelletes. Or put another way, rock music interpreted through a folk gramophone with a doo-wop kick, serious harmonies and some serious sex appeal. The evening becomes a little more x-rated with Karen’s Smutty Mind at 10PM as she serenades the audience with funny filthy songs about mature adult behavior. At 11PM, Acoustic Folk meets Indie Rocker Joey Verskotzi, flying in especially for the evening from Minneapolis, MN, performs original music, which centers around an appreciation for a great melody. Verskotzi’s music written in the tundra will melt your soul. According to the Kansas City Pitch, “Joey Verskotzi’s Lemon Heart is not a windows-rolled-down summer jam. It is the record you want to put on at sunrise, when everything is quiet and you’re sneaking a cigarette.” The evening wraps up with Neo-New Waveers The Fantastic Plastics. Our Midnight Special brings you a two-piece Girl/Boy combo that delivers big sound with their Moog synth, big rock guitars, and electro drum and bass. Their electric stage show is enhanced with vintage TVs, and Atari Video Music machine, costumes, and songs you can’t help but sing along to all night long. If you were feeling low this band will make you high.
