Man Shot In Head, Killed In Crown Heights

Police seek help tracking down a suspect was spotted running away from the Buffalo Avenue shooting Saturday evening.

CROWN HEIGHTS, BROOKLYN — A suspect remains on the loose after a Crown Heights shooting that left another man dead, authorities said.

Police found Paul Hoilett, 31, with a gunshot wound to his head Saturday evening near Buffalo Avenue and Sterling Place. Medics rushed him to Kings County Hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead.

The shooting unfolded at about 8 p.m., shortly before NYPD responded to a 911 call about the fatally wounded Hoilett.

A surveillance captured a photograph of a suspect running near the shooting scene at 236 Buffalo Ave., which is in Crown Heights' Weeksville section.

Police describe him as short-haired man about 5 feet 8 inches tall, 170 pounds and a thin build. He can be seen in the photograph wearing a red hooded sweatshirt, a white T-shirt, blue jeans and white sneakers.

He hopped into a white Jeep Renegade SUV and fled the area, authorities said.
