Meet The Goose That Loosed Subway Chaos

This Brooklyn goose brought Q trains to a halt Monday as police went on a wild him chase.

PROSPECT LEFFERTS-GARDENS, BROOKLYN -- Meet the goose who spurred a wild him chase on the tracks of the Q train. MTA released a photo of the loose goose who stalled southbound Q trains for hours when he appeared in station near Prospect Park Monday.

"Honk," the photo caption reads on Twitter.

Southbound trains ran express between the Prospect Park and Kings Highway stations for about two hours as the NYPD tried to nab the loose goose spotted between the Parkside and Church avenue stations, according to an MTA.

The bird was eventually rescued, tucked in a cage and removed from the station unharmed by the third rail, MTA officials said.

How the bird landed on the Q line remains unclear, but the Brooklyn tracks run near the Prospect Park Lake, a popular hangout for ducks and geese.

He may have been making a goose's traditional migration (it was the southbound train tracks, as Allison Arieff noted) or fleeing a city without a foie gras ban.

"This news comes after reports NY wants to ban foie gras," wrote Twitter user Scott. "The goose lobby in NY is strong!"
