More Details About Franny's Move, New Restaurant 'Marco'

New space in old Blockbuster will seat 80 and take reservations for six or more; a new restaurant, Marco, will open in Franny's old space.

As Patch reported on Saturday,  and opening a new restaurant in the old space. And yesterday the New York Times shared some more details about the move, and the new restaurant that will move into Franny’s old space.

According to The Times, the new Franny’s will seat 80, up from the current 50, and will now accept reservations for parties of six or more. The report also says that the new space will have two brick ovens for pizza, as well as a private dining room.

The Times also gave more details on the new restaurant owners Andrew Feinberg and Francine Stephens plan to put at the 295 Flatbush Ave. spot by spring of 2013. It will be called "Marco" after the couple's son, and will focus on pasta. A wood-burning grill and rotisserie will be added to the kitchen.

We had hoped that with the move to a bigger space, Franny’s would also begin to offer delivery, but so far, no announcement has been made.

Franny’s was recently dubbed the city's , and as on New York Magazine’s  “101 Best Restaurants in New York” guide (and the only Prospect Heights/Park Slope restaurant to make the list).
