Person Hit By Train In Brooklyn Subway, Officials Say

A person was hit by a train at the Sterling Street station Thursday evening, according to the MTA.

BROOKLYN, NEW YORK -- A person was hit by a train in a Brooklyn subway station during rush hour Thursday, MTA officials said.

The straphanger was struck at the 2 and 5 train station on Nostrand Avenue and Sterling Street at about 5:50 p.m., said the MTA.

An FDNY spokesman confirmed emergency responders were sent to the station, but did not have information about the condition of the person struck.

MTA officials warned commuters to expect delays on the 2 and 5 trains as service was cut between Franklin Avenue and Flatbush Avenue-Brooklyn College in both directions.
