Ramblin Andy + Justin Rothberg Group + Eliza and the Organix + Jon Glover @ The Way Station

8pm- Ramblin Andy
Genre: Americana
For fans of: AA Bondy, Justin Townes Earle,

Ramblin’ Andy Street Band & Choir is equal parts country-haze and raucous roots—full of ukuleles, drone guitars, and fuzzed bass.  Imagine The Jesus Mary Chain as a country act...sort of.

9pm- Justin Rothberg Group
Genre: jazz/world music/funk
For fans of: Fela/John Scofield

We try to explore a variety of different styles of music. While the group is rooted in jazz, we try to stay as open minded as possible. Songs are influenced by hiphop, funk, dub reggae, Latin, world music, and anything else the band has been listening to.  We pride ourselves in having our own sound but try to keep the music from being too "heady"  We want it to be interesting and fresh but also listenable.  Thats very important to us.  To keep the music from sounding stiff, everyone tries to trust each other’s musical taste. Even though I write all of the tunes, it’s still a very open vibe on stage.  No matter what song the band is playing, we’re always open to experimentation.  Most of the members of the band have known each other for around 10 yrs so we've got a great vibe going.”

10pm- Eliza and the Organix
Genre: gritty jazz rock
For fans of: Cake, Morphine, Beck, The Dresden Dolls

Eliza and the Organix is a gritty Brooklyn-based rock group centered around the songwriting of guitarist and singer Eliza Waldman. With a foundation in blues and jazz, we deal in deep grooves, quirky humor, and high octane playing. From swampy saxophone swirling in the background and a back porch vibe to slower, more poignant numbers, we draw from a wide sonic canvas that remains focused in edgy, imagistic storytelling and fat, soulful sound. Our debut album The Organix Experience released in August 2012 and has been featured on air at Mike Taylor on Amazing Radio.

"...Excellent..." -Tom Robinson, Fresh On The Net
"[Eliza and the Organix] harkens back to the old No-Wave Movement of the late 70s, early 1980s."  -Mike Taylor, Amazing Radio

11pm- Jon Glover
Genre: Americana, Country, Folk
For fans of:  Ryan Adams, Steve Wynn, Jeff Tweedy

A solo show from Jon Glover, guitarist/vocalist/songwriter for the alt-country band Mud, Blood, and Beer, whose album The Sweet Life was just named one of the 50 best albums of 2013 by New York Music Daily, who called his song “Nasturtiums in Bloom” a “grimly bitter, desert-rock anthem.”

Quotes from the press: “The band has two first-rate songwriters and brilliant lead guitarists in Jon Glover and Jess Hoeffner, who share share an edgy, restless unease. Anger, danger and black humor pervade this album. They make a good team, Glover playing menacing southwestern gothic Steve Wynn to Hoeffner’s somewhat more eclectic, straight-up rocking Dan Stuart.
