“Great, rootsy, country rock in the spirit of The Band. These guys sound like they're having a lot of fun!” —  Mike Merritt - Bassist Conan O'Brian, Levon Helm, Facebook

“The one-time 19th-century roadhouse has been a music club since the 1960s, hosting primarily blues acts, including Muddy Waters, John Lee Hooker, Buddy Guy and Stevie Ray Vaughan. Tonight, we shot Carmen Cosentino and his band The "Real Rock Drive"... what a great night. The place really rocked! Wow! 9pm- Joanna Sternberg & Squirrel Ship
Genre: country/folk
For fans of: The Band, Merle Haggard, The Flying Burrito Brothers

Joanna Sternberg is a 22 year old singer/songwriter/bassist who has been writing songs since the age of six.  Born into a musical family in NYC, Joanna has been playing and listening to music all of her life.  Joanna writes songs about the span of human emotions.  They are personal country/folk songs that are easy for everyone to relate to.

Review: From "The Modern Folk Music of America" blog:
“NYC based upright bassist and singer/songwriter joanna sternberg is on my good side with her album 'new york city' for a few reasons, first i love squirrels (seriously just look at my instagram). but more importantly she writes classic sounding songs, somewhere between stately pop and surreal country, delivers them in a timeless, unique voice, doesn't seem to be taking herself too seriously, and there is plenty of reverb on the guitar. it's no surprise she comes to making this high quality music so naturally, she grew up making music, starting at the tender age of 5. i recommend this one. especially 'human magnet song'.”

Bandcamp staff pick 2012 "How Things Change" "Top notch Jazz. Patrick Bartley's sax solo on this track may rip your face off."

CD Baby Discovery Blog 1/16/13 "Also hailing from New York, XD 7 are a tight, well oiled Jazz machine. Seven members big (hence the “7”) their sound is full and textural. All of the tracks in this album take on different melodic and rhythmic perspective and feel fresh and diverse. We’re looking forward to more!"
