SUN, 9/21: Join the Brooklyn For Peace contingent at the People's Climate March!

In September, world leaders are coming to NYC for a UN summit on the climate crisis. UN Secretary­ General Ban Ki-­moon is urging governments to support an ambitious global agreement to dramatically reduce global warming pollution.

With our future on the line and the whole world watching, we will take a stand to bend the course of history. We will take to the streets to demand the world we know is within our reach: a world with an economy that works for people and the planet; a world safe from the ravages of climate change; a world with good jobs, clean air and water, and healthy communities.

To change everything, we need everyone on board at the People’s Climate March on Sunday, September 21!

Join the Brooklyn For Peace contingent at the People’s Climate March!

Everyone is welcome to join us! We will have signs. Other groups and individuals welcome to join as well.

9 am: Gather on plaza at Court & Montague St, downtown Bklyn. See a map
9:30 am: Depart by subway for rally (exact Manhattan location to be announced) to 77th St and CPW
10 am: Peace Rally with speakers Bill McKibben (350.org), Medea Benjamin(Code Pink), Margaret Stevens (Veterans For Peace), Erica Violet-Lee (Idle No More) and music by Dar Williams, Emma’s Revolution, Holly Near, and more
11:30 am: March begins (200,000+ folks expected!)

In Manhattan: From 9 to 11:30 a.m., people will assemble north of Columbus Circle, along Central Park West from 60th Street to 86th Street. Specific contingents (e.g., Peace and Justice, Anti-Frackers, etc.) will be assigned specific blocks for assembly. We are meeting at 77th St.

End of March wrap-up on 11th Ave between 34th and 38th St.
