Teen Killed On Brooklyn Subway Tracks, Police Say

An 18-year-old boy was struck by a 2 train between the Barclays Center and Bergen Street stations Wednesday night, police said.

PROSPECT HEIGHTS, BROOKLYN — A teenager was killed Wednesday night after he ran into a subway tunnel and was hit by a train, police said.

NYPD officers spotted the 18-year-old boy jumping onto the 2 train tracks at the Bergen Street subway station at about 11:50 p.m., police said.

Police stayed on the platform and lost sight of the teen when he dashed into the southbound tunnel, according to the NYPD.

The teen was struck by a southbound 2 train between the Bergen Street and Barclays Center stations just minutes later, police said.

The young man, whose name was held as police located his family, died at the scene, said police.
