While there are plenty of great shops along Vanderbilt and Washington avenues, most people said they would head out of Prospect Heights.

"It's going to be Park Slope," suggested Saloi and Lionel Koretsky, who live on Prospect Place between Flatbush and Sixth avenues.

If you're looking for a great toy, head to , a hair salon that specializes in children that is combined with a toy store.

Miles Kafka, who lives on Washington Avenue between Dean and Pacific streets, was at Underhill Playground with his 14-month-old son, Eli.

"It's probably Target, honestly, because if it's last minute, (that means) I don't know what I'm doing, so (at Target) it's a pretty wide spread," he said.

Liv Johanson and David Berg, who live on Propsect between Underhill and Washington also suggested the mega-store in the Atlantic Center Mall. "That's where you can go to get wherever," said Berg. Johanson said a good way to find gifts would be to "troll up and down Fifth Avenue."

Daryl Kahn, who was visiting Underhill Playground with his son but lives in Fort Greene, suggested Greenlight Bookstore.

"They have just a shockingly good selection," he said. "Of course you're going to get cheaper books on Amazon but it (Greenlight) is a really pleasant place to shop."
