Human Skull Found In Jamaica Bay: Police, Report
Police said the remains were discovered Tuesday morning near Cross Bay Boulevard and 164th Avenue.

QUEENS, NY — A human skull was discovered in Jamaica Bay on Tuesday morning, three weeks after a couple fishing found the headless body of a 46-year-old Ozone Park man, according to police and a report.
An NYPD spokesperson confirmed police received a 911 call after human remains were discovered in the water near Cross Bay Boulevard and 164th Avenue.
Officers responded to the area and removed the remains, police said.

A report by amNY citing police said the remains were a human skull and were found by a person fishing behind the Surfside Motel.
The grisly discovery came just three weeks after the headless body of 46-year-old Lukasz Mikolajewicz was found floating in the bay a block away, according to multiple reports citing police.

Reports said police believe Mikolajewicz died by suicide.
Police could not confirm if Tuesday's discovery of remains is connected to Mikolajewicz’s death. Police said the remains would be sent to the medical examiner for analysis.
