Joe Crowley Resigns As Queens Democratic Party Chair: Report
Ex-Congressman Joe Crowley resigned as the party's chairman on the same day he joined a top D.C. lobbying firm, the New York Post reported.

QUEENS, NY - Former U.S. Representative Joe Crowley left his post as chairman of the Queens Democratic Party on Tuesday, the same day he joined one of the largest lobbying firms in the country, according to the New York Post.
Crowley, who lost his congressional seat to Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez last year, had led the Queens Democratic party since 2006. He represented the northern Queens and the eastern Bronx in the U.S. House of Representatives for two decades.
"It's time to move on," Crowley told the New York Daily News. "I'm very proud of the work I've done. I got a great career and I enjoyed it very, very much."

The Woodside native started at law and lobbying group Squire Patton Boggs on Tuesday. Squire Patton Boggs is the third-largest lobbying firm in Washington, D.C., according to a Washington Business Journal ranking based on lobbying income in 2017. Two of Crowley's former staffers also joined Washington lobbying groups since he left office last month.
"We were honored to hear from many of the great firms in town since leaving Congress, and chose what we think is the very best place to continue our careers," Crowley said in a statement. "Serving in Congress was an honor of a lifetime and I look forward to working on many of the same issues in this new role."
