• Two alleged squatters indicted for illegally occupying Bayside home for more than two years: DA (qns.com) — Two people are accused of illegally living for more than two years in an unoccupied Bayside house and now face burglary, grand larceny, and trespass charges in Queens Supreme Court. Prosecutors say the pair treated the property as their own, even putting the address on their licenses, before being arrested and locked out; they could face up to 15 years if convicted.
   

• NYC housing lottery offers three-bedroom apartments for less (latination.com) — Queens residents, especially larger working families, can now apply for 62 affordable apartments in the new Dix Avenue complex in Far Rockaway, with three-bedroom units starting around $1,500 a month. Applications are handled through NYC Housing Connect, with income limits up to about $126,000 depending on household size and a firm deadline of October 15, 2026.
