📰 News we're reading

• Ramapo Under Moderate Fiscal Stress According to OSC; Other Rockland Towns Score Well On Stress Tests (rcbizjournal.com) — Ramapo residents should know the state comptroller now labels the town moderately fiscally stressed, citing low fund balances, inadequate reserves, and weak cash positions. The report contrasts Ramapo with other Rockland towns and notes Ramapo's recent S&P downgrade and current A/A3 credit ratings, which could affect borrowing costs and future tax or service decisions.

• Two Plead Guilty in Rockland Drug Case (rocklandnews.com) — Ramapo residents should know their local police department helped Rockland County prosecutors secure felony drug pleas tied to crack cocaine sales in Nyack. Two men now face multi-year state prison sentences after Operation Spring Cleaning, a task force effort that included Ramapo, Haverstraw, and Suffern officers targeting countywide narcotics activity earlier this year.
