2nd Man Found Dead In Riverhead In 3 Days: Police

Both men were found outdoors, police say.

RIVERHEAD, NY — A second man was found dead in Riverhead within a three-day period, police said.

On Tuesday at 3:32 a.m. police were called in regard to an "unconscious and unresponsive" man found seated on the ground against the exterior wall of the Express Deli & Café on Osborn Avenue, Riverhead Town police said.

Employees arrived to open the business for the day, saw the man outside, and called 911, police said.

Police determined that the man was not breathing and did not have a pulse. The Riverhead Volunteer Ambulance Corps was called; CPR was administered by officers, police said. When EMTs arrived, they continued CPR and brought the man to Peconic Bay Medical Center, where he was declared dead, police said.

He was identified as Alberto N. Munoz Noj, 44, of Riverhead, and formerly of Guatemala, police said.

No foul play was immediately suspected in either death but the investigations are ongoing, police said.
