Celebrity Sightings in Riverhead You May Not Have Heard About

Celebrity sightings that reportedly may have taken place throughout Riverhead over the last 48 hours - you decide whether you care or not.

Seems that there was a lot of hoo-hah Saturday about the sighting of a certain LA-based reality TV star dining at Farm Country Kitchen with her "E!" production crew filming their visit to the popular Riverhead eatery.

In fact, this caused so much of a ruckus in town that the tabloid paparazzi were camped out across the street for hours even after she and her crew had left, desperately waiting for a glimpse and hopefully getting a shot of the TV star in order to get the big "scoop".

The thing that most people don't know is that Riverhead has long been a destination for all sorts of entertainment and political royalty looking for a few minutes of anonymity, as this town is generally so unassuming that you wouldn't know it.

For example, someone who appeared to be the splitting image of Ed Asner (of "Mary Tyler Moore" fame and long time president of the Screen Actors Guild) was reportedly seen quietly dining by himself at a downtown steakhouse.

Another person who looked like soap opera star Susan Lucci was reported to be seen strolling through Tanger Outlets at Ann Taylor Loft, incognito.

A gentleman resembling actor Wilford Brimley (of the movie "Cocoon" and many other films and TV shows) was seen frequenting a local farm stand, picking up some local, sweet corn and other vegetables.

Billionaire blowhard Donald Trump and celebrity athletes like Boomer Esiason reportedly play golf every so often at Friar's Head.

Even a few weeks ago, millionaire blowhard, actor and philanthropist Alec Baldwin recently held a charity function here.

A young waterpark enthusaist resembling "Harry Potter" star Daniel Radcliffe was seen flying down the "Great Barrier Reef" water slide at Splish Splash - without his glasses.

A bespectacled man who looked like former US Secretary of State Henry Kissinger was seen enjoying some beef negimaki at Sakura.

Last but not least, Paul Reubens (aka Pee Wee Herman), Barney the Dinosaur, Mickey Mouse and other assorted Disney characters were reportedly seen shopping at Toys R Us on Route 58.

Oh, sorry, correction: they were the shoppees, not the shoppers.

So when you're out and about and you come across these celebrities, don't follow your instincts, gawk and grab your camera hoping for a shot.

Just say hello and welcome them to our fair town: "Riverhead - The East End Capital of Anonymity"

Maybe they'll come back.....or not.
