Community Gardens Sprouting in Suffolk with Some Help from Cornell

Cornell Cooperative Extension is helping with community gardens throughout Suffolk County!

In the next few weeks, we are looking forward to celebrations for two new community gardens that are collaborations between Cornell Cooperative Extension and Suffolk residents.

This Saturday, a garden ribbon-cutting ceremony will be held at the Hampton Bays Middle School on Ponquogue Avenue. CCE has been working with teachers, students and volunteers to make this gorgeous garden a reality. And in Riverhead, volunteers from River and Roots are working hard on their upcoming West Main Street garden, complete with 36 garden plots.

With help from our Creating Healthy Places to Live, Work and Play grant, Cornell Cooperative Extension of Suffolk is proud to be assisting our friends create these beautiful community gardens.  And we look forward to creating more!
