Help Us Replenish Local Food Pantries for the Holidays

This holiday season, I am asking residents to assist in providing families in need with non-perishable food donations.  In the aftermath of Superstorm Sandy, many local parish outreach centers and food pantries are in need of replenishing their supplies in order to ensure the families on their lists will have food for the holidays.

As a resident and elected official, it always makes me very proud to see how we respond when people from our communities are in need.  Since more residents have relied on our local food pantries than usual after the recent storm, it is important that we help restock these supplies. However, we also need to be aware that there are several food pantries and parish outreach centers in our communities that assist people all year long.  It is important for residents to know where these locations are within their communities in order to help spread the word and provide these organizations with more consistent donations throughout the year.

To assist in replenishing local food pantries and parish outreach centers, I am holding a food drive at my district office through December 21.  Non-perishable food items can be dropped off Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.  My Assembly office is located at 400 West Main Street, Suite 201, in Riverhead.  For more information or if you need directions, please call (631) 727-0204.
