If You Can Make it Here...Then You Can make It Anywhere
Or at least that is what they say, but Frankie was talking about New York City. For me, I am talking about Long Island, my home.

The place where I was born and raised and hope to soon raise a family of my own. I love everything about Long Island...the wineries, the parks, the ocean, the beaches, and the beautiful communities...I could go on forever. What a beautiful place to have the privilege of calling home.
I always tell people that my life is not always easy but that it is always worth it. I had a typical childhood. I am the oldest of three girls. My parents worked very hard to give us a great life. We grew up very close. I met my husband when I was 19 years old. We worked together at SKECHERS shoe store in the Tanger Outlets, Riverhead, New York. As soon as I saw him come around the corner on my first day of work I knew he was the man I was going to marry...it took Ben a bit of time to get on the same page but we have been married for a little over three years and are living in Manorville with our cat, Samantha, who I rescued (as my husband’s surprise Christmas gift) from Kent Animal Shelter in Calverton.
In the past few years I have dealt with a magnitude of life changing events. My mother, who is my inspiration, is a two time breast cancer survivor. The whole time she was undergoing treatment the woman did not miss a beat. She is amazing. Then in August of 2009 we lost my father, our rock and center of our family. Not a day goes by that we don’t miss him and think of him. We live each and everyday in his memory.
So at 28 years old I find myself at a defining moment in my life. A time where it s my responsibility to continue the traditions and values of my family and friends onto a new generation. As far as I am concerned there is not better place to do so than Long Island. My hope is that though this blog people will find inspiration and hope in our ever changing world. And to be reminded at the end of the day that it is the relationships in our lives, not the money, is what matters most.
So I hope you will join me in my journey as my husband and I work to make it here, make a beautiful life for ourselves and future family...on Long Island...
As my father would say, as he smiles down from heaven, I wish you health, wealth, and the happiness to enjoy one another...
