Celebrate Your Senior! Three-Sport Varsity Athlete Shines
A new Patch series will celebrate students who have seen their senior years derailed due to coronavirus. Nominate your senior here.

RIVERHEAD, NY — For so many students who should have been enjoying senior year with prom, graduation, and other milestone events, the coronavirus crisis has meant that sadly, dreams and long-awaited celebrations have been put on hold.
Patch would like to shine a light on these amazing young people and their accomplishments; a new series "Celebrate Your Senior!" launched this week, inviting proud parents and others to spotlight the young people whose accomplishments can't be derailed by coronavirus.
Donald McIntosh nominated his daughter Megan McIntosh, a senior at Riverhead High School.

"Megan is a well rounded young lady," he said.
Megan, he said, is an accomplished violist, a member of the honor and chamber orchestras, a three-sport varsity athlete, a member of the National Honor Society and Foreign Language National Honor Society, and a member of the Key Club and Athletes helping Athletes.

Her list of achievements speaks to a dedicated high school journey: Megan earned the 2016 All League Award from Suffolk County High School Soccer Coaches. She is a member of the National Junior Honor Society, an accomplished violist champion, participated in Music in the Park with Riverhead Middle School in 2015 and 2016, and is a member of the honors chamber orchestra.

Megan was also named MVP in 2017 for Riverhead High School varsity soccer, was awarded the 2017 All Conference Player Award from the Suffolk County High School Soccer Coaches Association, was the 10th grade varsity soccer team captain in 2017, played the viola in for the Hampton Music Educator's Association, or HMEA, in 2017 and 2018, and for the Suffolk County Music Educators' Association, from 2016 to 2019.
She was honored with the 2018 All Division Player Award from the Suffolk County High School Soccer Coaches Association, was the 11th and 12th grade varsity soccer team captain, was the 2019 Heisman High School Scholarship Winner, and was named MVP in 2019 for Riverhead High School varsity soccer in 2019.
She won the All County Player Award from the Suffolk County High School Soccer Coaches Association in 2019, and was named a New York State Public High School Athletic Association,or NYSPHSAA, scholar athlete.
In 2020, she was named Riverhead High School's Most Athletic Female Athlete, and also in 2020, won the James Janesek Outstanding High School Varsity Basketball Award.
Megan will be attending Molloy College in the fall majoring in adolescent education mathematics and she will also be playing NCAA D2 soccer.
