District Announces New Assistant Principal of Riverhead High School
The new assistant principal was announced at the Board of Education meeting on Tuesday.

It was announced at the Board of Education meeting on Tuesday that RHS social studies teacher Patrick Burke has been chosen to be the new Assistant Principal at the High School.
Burke will replace Michael Hugelmeyer, who was previously named the Director of Professional Development.
Burke recently completed the School District Leadership (SDL) and School Building Leadership (SBL) graduate program at Stony Brook University.

Recently, he received first place for his research and development of a creative program on teacher-based “effective” professional development: Reciprocal Peer Teaching (RPT). RPT was created by Burke as an effective way to ensure quality teacher professional development that will ultimately lead to a more effective classroom for both the teacher and the students.
