Father, Son Charged With Stealing Traffic Sign From Tanger: Cops
Father and son cut down the sign and stashed it in the bed of their truck, police say.

RIVERHEAD, NY —A father and son were charged with stealing a large traffic sign from Tanger Outlets in Riverhead Friday, police said.
According to Riverhead Town Police, the incident took place at 12:02 p.m. when Tanger security notified police about the theft of the road sign at the outlet, located at 1770 W. Main Street.
Security reported that two men had cut down the large traffic sign and placed it into a silver truck; patrol officers located the truck inside Tanger, police said.

Karl Kirchner III, 54, and Karl Kirchner IV, 21, were inside the vehicle; the traffic sign was located in the bed of the pickup truck and returned to Tanger staff members, police said.
Both men were arrested, charged with fourth degree grand larceny and fourth degree criminal mischief, processed at Riverhead Police headquarters and released for a further court date, police said.
