RIVERHEAD, NY — For the fifth year in a row, National Grid volunteers teamed up with the North Fork Spanish Apostolate to donate Thanksgiving meals to families in need in Riverhead.

In addition, National Grid said they also took time to discuss the consumer advocacy programs they offer — continuing the company's statewide "Season of Giving" initiative.

Riverhead Town Supervisor Yvette Aguiar joined the National Grid volunteers and helped distribute food to 50 families who had preregistered. Southold Supervisor-elect and current Suffolk County Legislator Al Krupski attended and donated vegetables from his family farm — as he has done every year.

"There is nothing more rewarding than giving back to the communities that we serve," said Brian Sapp, director of external affairs Long Island, National Grid. "We are grateful for our partners who, year after year, join us for this event to make it special."

The Season of Giving is part of the company’s Project C community commitment to support the people and communities the company serves across New York with sustainability programs, neighborhood development projects, grants and more, National Grid said.
