Long Island University's Riverhead Campus Rebranded
The college will now be known as LIU Riverhead as part of a new marketing effort from the university.

will be getting a new logo for the New Year.
The campus will now be using an "LIU Riverhead" brand effective Jan. 1, as part of a rebranding initiative for the private university's six campuses, according to the school.
School officials said the new "LIU" logo and consistent theme between schools would help "present the school in a more contemporary way" after the Board of Trustees requested a change.

“Our objective is to develop a campaign that would create a unified identity, reaffirm our student-centric focus and distinguish the university in the higher education sector,” said Board of Trustees Chairman Edward Travaglianti in a statement.
The campus' name will not be changed, the school said; only the logo and brand will be altered to fix the university-wide campaign.

The rebranding campaign will include ads run on the New York Subway, on television and in newspapers showcasing the diversity of resources available to LIU students in order to lure more students in a tough economic climate, the school wrote.
The new marketing effort, called the "Rebranding and Recruitment Initiative," was covered by existing marketing budgets and will have no effect on tutitions, according to a release from the school. The new logo will remain in effect for "years to come," the university said.
