Man Charged With Selling Alcohol To Minor At Food Festival: Cops

An arrest was made at the Famous Food Festival in Riverhead this weekend when a man sold alcohol to a minor, police say.

RIVERHEAD, NY — A Hicksville man was arrested and charged with selling alcohol to a minor at a Riverhead food festival Sunday, police said.

According to Riverhead Town Police, members of the department's COPE unit conducted a New York State Liquor Authority compliance check targeting the sale of alcohol to patrons under 21 at a special event, The Famous Food Festival, held at the Tanger Outlet Center on West Main Street.

Fat Boyz Burrito Bar from Bellmore was checked and found to be not in compliance, police said.

Brian Collins, 23, was arrested and charged with first degree unlawfully dealing with a child, police said. He was processed and released on a desk appearance ticket, police said.
