Man Dies After Being Found In Truck Off Side Of Road

RIVERHEAD, NY — A man died after his truck was found off the side of the road Tuesday, police said.

According to Riverhead Town Police, a call came in on Tuesday at 8:41 a.m. from a passerby who had seen a white, mid-sized pickup truck that was slightly into the wood line just off the road in the northbound lane of County Road 105, just south of Route 25.

An unconscious male driver was found by police and emergency medical personnel rendered medical assistance, police said.

The man, who was alone in the vehicle, was transported to Peconic Bay Medical Center by Riverhead Town Volunteer Ambulance Corps, where he was pronounced dead, police said.
