WESTHAMPTON, NY — Visitors to Southampton Town beaches are asked to please clean up before they leave.

To that end, the town unveiled a new rack of clean-up baskets, which were installed at Pikes Beach in Westhampton Friday.

Southampton Town Councilmen John Bouvier and Rick Martel accepted the donation of baskets from Aiden Kravitz, a local community member, in an effort to keep the beaches clean, town officials said.

Similar donations of beach baskets were given to the town last year from the Hampton Bays and Southampton Rotary Clubs; the baskets were placed at area beaches and used by many patrons, town officials said.

In addition, the annual beach clean-up program, The Great East End Clean-Up, initially postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, will return in a scaled down version on October 3 and 4, town officials said.
