North Fork Motorcyclist Hit By Deer Needs Help
A deer ran out and hit him off off his motorcycle, and now he won't be able to work for months, GoFundMe page says. How to help Big Kevin.

JAMESPORT, NY — Deer strikes are no joke on local roads, according to the many North Fork residents who've reported crashes and injuries in recent years.
And now, according to a new GoFundMe page, "Big Kevin Needs Help After Motorcycle Accident," created by Jennifer Confort, a local man is struggling after a crash involving a deer has left him badly injured.
"Big Kevin Lawlor needs our help," she wrote.

On July 13, the day before his birthday, Lawlor had been working on his motorcycle and took it for a test ride up the road to get gas, Confort said.
"While he was riding home down South Jamesport Avenue, a deer ran out and hit him. It knocked him off his bike and he suffered a collapsed lung, five broken ribs, a broken wrist and broken ankle, which required surgery to repair. He’s currently in an in-patient rehab facility for physical therapy. Unfortunately, he has minimal health insurance and will be unable to work for a long time. He will have no income coming in while he is recovering," she said.

Lawlor, she added, has bills, rent, and other expenses that will need to be paid so that he will be able to return home after his rehabilitation.
"Those of you that know Kevin, know that he is always doing whatever he can to help those in need. He supports many different types of fundraisers, from addiction and recovery to motorcycle rides that support various causes. He can always be counted on to lend a hand to those in need," Confort said. "He’s now the one that needs help and I’m asking his friends and our community to donate whatever you can to help Kevin alleviate the financial stress he’s feeling during his recovery."
