Crescent Duck Farm ducks are back on Long Island restaurant menus (newsday.com) — Riverhead diners can once again order Crescent Duck dishes at Barrow Food House and Jerry and the Mermaid now that the historic Aquebogue farm has resumed production after a 2025 bird flu shutdown. Several Long Island chefs are celebrating the return of the locally raised Pekin ducks, adding new duck specials and bringing back longtime menu favorites that had switched to out-of-area suppliers.
   

5. Kings Park man sent to prison for robbing multiple Flagstar banks (greaterlongisland.com) — A Kings Park man has been sentenced in Riverhead to 5½ to 11 years in prison for robbing two Flagstar Bank branches in West Babylon and Deer Park last December. Suffolk County prosecutors say he passed threatening notes implying he had a weapon, stole more than $5,000, and was later arrested in Copiague carrying cash, cocaine, and another robbery note.
