Police ID Woman Found Dead In Wooded Area In Wading River
The investigation as to why the woman, who lived in Brentwood, was in the area is ongoing, police say.
RIVERHEAD, NY — The woman found dead in a wooded area in Wading River Sunday has been identified as Joanna Derosse, 44, of Brentwood, police said. The investigation as to why the deceased woman was in the area is still ongoing.
According to Riverhead Town Police, at 2:28 p.m., a call came in about the woman, who was found in the area behind 20th Street. Her body was discovered by a resident walking his dog in the area, police said.
An investigation followed, involving the Riverhead Town Department's detective squad and the Suffolk County Medical Examiner’s Office.
