Police: Jamesport Man Arrested on DWI Charge in Mattituck

A Jamesport man was arrested on a DWI charge on Sunday evening in Mattituck, according to Southold Town Police.
Christopher Eckie, 44, was seen driving a Red Chevy heading westbound on Route 25 in Mattituck, police said.

Eckie was stopped after crossing over the solid white line into the shoulder of the roadway several times, according to police.
He was given, and failed, several roadside sobriety tests at the scene and found to be intoxicated, police said.

Eckie was arrested and transported back to headquarters were he was processed and held for arraignment.
