Police: Riverside Woman Arrested For Beating 3-Year-Old Daughter
The arrest was made last week.

A Riverside woman was arrested last week for repeatedly beating her 3-year-old daughter, according to Southampton Town Police.
Police detectives, assisted by Child Protective Services, investigated the injuries of the child on Nov. 19, police said.
Later the same day, detectives arrested the 20-year-old mother who was found to have repeatedly beaten her daughter with a belt, causing heavy bruising to the child’s body, police said. Patch is not naming the woman in order to protect the privacy of the child.

The woman was held overnight at Southampton Town Police headquarters on the charges of second degree assault and endangering the welfare of a child, according to police.
She was brought to Southampton Justice Court where she was released on her own recognizance.

The child has been placed with relatives for her safety, police said.
