Purim Celebration Spotlights Tradition: Photos
It was a celebration of life, laughter, fellowship, fun and feasting at a Purim event in East Hampton recently.
EAST HAMPTON, NY — On the second day of Purim 2018, Rabbi Leibel Baumgarten and his family opened their home and invited the community to join them in celebrating, with a traditional Israeli Purim feast and wine tasting.
Goldie Baumgarten's kitchen created a delicious four course meal, which included roasted eggplant, Za'atar spiced crisps and spiced challah, Moroccan salmon, hummus bassar, chicken schwarma and beef kreplach.
Everyone was invited to wear silly costumes, to hear the Megillah, or the Book of Esther, to twirl their graggers, or noisemakers, and to eat, sing, drink and laugh together. Executive Director of the East Hampton Chamber of Commerce Steven Ringel amazed the crowd with his professional quality magic show.
