Riverhead Man Charged With Robbing Suffolk Bank: Cops
He displayed a handgun and demanded cash; a Mastic woman was also charged, police say.
RIVERHEAD, NY — A Riverhead man and a Mastic woman were arrested and charged with robbing a Lake Grove bank Sunday, police said.
According to Suffolk County Police, Caleb Christiansen, 30, of Riverhead, entered a TD Bank branch located on Middle Country Road, approached a teller, displayed a handgun, and presented a note demanding cash at 2:35 p.m. The teller complied and Christiansen fled the bank, getting into a white Jeep where Jeanne Marie Zoller, 49, of Mastic, was waiting outside. The Jeep fled southbound on Hawkins Avenue, police said.
Suffolk County Fourth Precinct officers located Christiansen and Zoller in the Jeep a short time later on Hawkins Avenue, arrested the pair, and charged them with first degree robbery, police said. They were held overnight at the Fourth Precinct and are scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on Monday.
