Shrine Vandalized With Graffiti, Hate Crimes Unit Investigating
Symbols and letters were spray painted on walls, benches and walkways at Shrine of Our Lady of the Island, police say.

MANORVILLE, NY — A Manorville shrine was vandalized with graffiti recently, police said.
Suffolk County Crime Stoppers and Suffolk County Police hate crimes unit detectives are asking for the public’s help to identify and locate the person or people who vandalized the property; symbols and letters were spray painted on walls, benches and walkways at Shrine of Our Lady of the Island, located at 258 Eastport Manor Road, sometime between August 9 and August 10, police said.
Suffolk County Crime Stoppers offers a cash reward of up to $5,000 for information that leads to an arrest. Anyone with information about the incident can contact Suffolk County Crime Stoppers to submit an anonymous tip by calling 1-800-220-TIPS, texting “SCPD” and a message to “CRIMES” (274637) or emailing www.tipsubmit.com. All calls, text messages and emails will be kept confidential.
