Slippery Road Conditions Spark 2 Crashes
Two people were injured in one of the crashes, police say.

RIDGE, NY — Slippery road conditions led to two crashes in Ridge Saturday morning, police said.
In the first crash, a 30-year-old female was driving a 2005 Jeep northbound on William Floyd Parkway in Ridge when her vehicle crossed over the median and struck a 2012 Nissan driven by a 58-year-old female, Suffolk County Police said. Both drivers were transported to a local hospital for treatment of minor injuries; the cause of the crash appeared to be slippery road conditions, police said.
Next, Suffolk County Police responded to a one-vehicle crash on the Long Island Expressway exit ramp to northbound William Floyd Parkway at 8:05 a.m. Saturday, police said. A 17-year-old male was driving a 2009 Kia when the vehicle left the roadway and went into a bush; the crash also appeared to be weather related, police said. No injuries were reported, police said.
