Thief Smashes Glass Door To Deli, Steals Lottery Tickets: Police

RIVERHEAD, NY — A thief smashed the glass door of a grocery store in Riverhead and stole lottery tickets and cigarettes early Thursday, police said.

Riverhead police said an alarm activation came in at 4:36 a.m. for the Village Grocery, located on East Main Street.

When police arrived, they found the front door glass to the business broken and pushed in; someone had entered and stolen assorted New York State Lotto tickets and packs of cigarettes, authorities said.
