Woman Charged With Animal Cruelty Caused 'Extreme Suffering' to Dog: Suffolk SPCA
The dog was so mistreated that it had to be euthanized, officials said Wednesday in announcing the arrest of Tiffany Norris.
RIVERHEAD, NY — A Riverhead woman was charged with animal cruelty after she caused "extreme suffering" to her dog, the Suffolk County SPCA said.
According to Chief Roy Gross, a Suffolk County SPCA detective arrested and charged Tiffany Norris, 33, of Zion Road in Riverhead, on Wednesday because she allegedly "severely neglected her German shepherd by failing to provide necessary sustenance and medical care, causing extreme suffering. The dog ultimately had to be euthanized."
Animal cruelty will not be tolerated in Suffolk County, Gross said.
