Ardsley Man Is Charged with Kidnapping Connecticut Woman

The suspect surrendered to Greenwich Police after investigators obtained an arrest warrant.

A man is facing a first-degree kidnapping charge in connection with an incident that began in western Greenwich earlier this month.

According to a Greenwich Police report, it was about 5:50 a.m. Sept. 18 when a woman who lives in the Glenville neighborhood of Greenwich called police and “told dispatchers that she was being kidnapped and heading to New York.”

“The victim was heard screaming and pleading with (the suspect) to let her out of the car,” according to the report.

After obtaining statements from the victim and a witness “who observed the argument prior to the kidnapping,” police obtained an arrest warrant for Sean A. Brown, 29, of 27 Faith Lane, Ardsley, charging him with kidnapping and operating without a license, according to the report.

Police said that Brown released the victim in Westchester County after convincing him she wouldn’t report the incident to police. The victim then hailed a taxi who brought her back to Greenwich. She was not injured in the incident, police said.

Brown surrendered to police on Sept. 22 and was released after posting $150,000 bond.

Brown is scheduled to appear Oct. 23 in state Superior Court in Stamford, according to the Connecticut Judicial Branch website.
