The Big Build: Dobbs Re-Design

Schools out, ArchForKids is in!

Kids, how do you want to improve your village? Design a kid-friendly structure to benefit the community: it could be a neighborhood MakerSpace, an eco-adventure park on the Hudson waterfront, a floating sports complex on a barge, or a mini zoo/animal rescue center. Or something else -- it’s up to you! The challenge, sponsored by the Dobbs Ferry Recreation Department, will be held on Tuesday, November 4 from 10am – 3 pm at the Embassy Center, 60 Palisade Street, Dobbs Ferry NY.

In this all-day workshop, young people will work in teams, mentored by ArchForKids educators and architects from the community. They will brainstorm, sketch and build a model of their plan. At the end, each team will present its work to the group and their families. A fun, fast-paced day for all!

The design challenged is presented by ArchForKids, a Dobbs Ferry educational organization that provides hands-on, minds-on learning experiences grounded in architecture and design.
